Andrew Goodman Ambassador Team (2014-2020)

From 2014 to 2020, three student ambassadors represented the Andrew Goodman Foundation and worked to register voters on campus. The Andrew Goodman Foundation is a national, non-partisan, civic engagement movement of student leaders and university partners. The program provides extensive training, resources, as well as a peer network to support its Andrew Goodman Ambassadors while they work to register voters, bring down voting barriers, and tackle important social justice issues on their college campuses.

Cornell Votes Fellowship (January-May 2020)

In January 2020, the Cornell Votes Fellowship was established. Thirteen fellows and three Andrew Goodman Foundation ambassadors were selected to continue civic engagement efforts. At the request of the University administration, the Public Service Center created and housed the Cornell Votes Fellowship, an initiative to create paid-positions for students involved in increasing civic engagement at Cornell. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Cornell University's hiring freeze, the Fellowship was dissolved after five months, but their contributions laid the foundation for its final iteration: Cornell Votes as a student organization.

Cornell Votes Fellowship (January-May 2020)

In response to the dissolution of the Fellowship, five former fellows collaborated throughout the summer to create and formalize a university-sponsored student organization. The efforts of Tolani Aliyu, Tori Healey, Dana Karami, Patrick J. Mehler, and Grace Ogden led to a completed Constitution, Executive Board of Officers and General Body membership, all of whom now collaborate as Cornell Votes. At least two officers serve as Andrew Goodman Foundation Ambassadors.

Cornell Votes has grown to become a prominent student organization and now resides in the David M. Einhorn Center for Community Engagement. The organization has developed partnerships with Every Vote Counts, All in to Vote, and Ivy League Votes to collaborate with student civic leaders across the country.
